Ryan's - working from home

Mon 8th Jun 20

Over the last few weeks the staff at Ryan's have been sharing their experiences of working from home.

Here is a summary of their stories so far...

Our first story was from Director Tim Larke, Tim commented "that actually putting a business continuity plan in place and seeing it work had been an interesting experience."

We then heard from Account Executive Jake Mower, Jake had found spending more time with his wife and daughter had been a positive working from home and being in lockdown.

Marketing Manager Tracy Healey was the next to share her story. Tracy was missing the office banter but also the support from colleagues, she misses chatting through issues or problems or asking for advice or a second opinion.

Next it was the turn of our youngest member of staff Charlie Smith. Having just passed his CII apprenticeship with distinction Charlie was enjoying working from home, he liked the fact that he was able to do things independently and crack on with his work.

Nicci Dedman-Munro can often be referred to as the glue that sticks the Ryan's team together. Nicci took a quick break from her busy day to tell us how Managing HR and IT was working out from home.

MD Robin Belsom used the lockdown to have a go at growing a beard! He is also busy organising a virtual Ekiden relay to raise precious funds for our chosen charity East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Sales Manager Katrina was missing her team, her colleagues and someone else to make the tea! But she was making the most of exploring the beautiful Suffolk countryside on her doorstep.

Exec Chair Tim Ryans says he finds working from home enjoyable but isolating. He said "there’s no better way than being with the person you’re talking to. Looking them in the whites of their eyes!!"

Our most recent story was from Nathan Harvey our claims manager, one of our busiest and since lockdown most unrecognisable members of staff.
