In celebration of National Apprenticeship week we shine a light on our two new apprentices Lily Aldridge & Lauryn Nelson.
Both joined our Private Clients Division last year and are currently studying their Level 3 Insurance Practitioner course and working towards their Cert CII qualification.
Lily joined us in October “Moving to insurance was a career change for me, I had worked in an office environment previously but not in insurance. I am really enjoying my time so far working for Ryan’s and even though we are working from home I feel as though I’ve gotten to know everyone and feel supported by my colleagues who are always offering help if I need it. I’m really grateful I’ve had the opportunity to work for such a great company and I can’t wait to meet everyone in person!”
Lauryn joined in November “Before working at Ryan’s, I already had 2 years’ experience working with a direct insurer but only dealt with motor policies, as well as completing my level 2 in insurance services customer advisor. My new role as a broker at Ryan’s has given me more independence and the ability to build up my own rapport with clients as well as giving them advice with a variety of policies offered.
Despite only being here for 3 months it has been very interesting to learn how to perform my role independently and learning new skills with the support from all departments even with the challenge of working from home. So far it has been brilliant starting my level 3 with all the support from Ryan's and I hope to continue adding to my qualifications in Insurance along the way.”
Private Clients manager Wendy Hepburn commented “It has been challenging at times training two new apprentices together and particularly remotely from home! They are fitting in really well though, training together has been beneficial for them both helping each other with role play quotations etc. they also have a little bit of healthy competition at times too! They are now buddied up with two experienced members of the team, who are on hand to support them whenever they need it. Even at this early stage I can see them both having a very successful career in insurance."
Good luck to both Lily and Lauryn, we hope you are with us for many years to come!
